Ford driver Jari-Matti Latvala leads Repco Rally Australia after the completion of day one, following 11 special stages and 84.13km of competition.

But it’s far from a comfortable lead, with just 2.2 seconds to defend on tomorrow’s slippery stages.

Ford's Latvala holds Narrow Lead after Special Stage 9 at Rally Australia

Half-way through day one of Repco Rally Australia as teams roll into the Kingscliff service park, BP Ford Abu Dhabi driver Jari-Matti Latvala has moved from his overnight fifth place into the lead with a slim 1.1 second advantage over Citroen's Sebastien Ogier.

Protesters Halt Repco Rally Australia Stage

Protestors have caused havoc this morning at Repco Rally Australia forcing the the Special Stage, SS6, to be cancelled.

It has been reported that only a few cars were able to start Special Stage 6 CTEK East 1 after Car 0 was initially stopped in mid-stage due to protestors throwing rocks at the car.

Ogier Sets The Pace At Super Specials

Sebastien Ogier has jumped into the lead of Repco Rally Australia after tonight’s two tarmac Tweed Super Special Stages.

With all crew running gravel tyres on the road course, the Citroen Junior Team driver put himself into the number one spot after setting fastest times in both Tweed 1 and Tweed 2’s Super Specials around the 2.55km tarmac road stages in the heart of Murwillumbah town.
