David Sera, Pierce Lehane and Cian Fothergill were victorious in round three of the CIK Stars of Karting Series presented by Castrol EDGE in Melbourne at the weekend.
While Sera won the Pro Gearbox category, he didn’t have it all his own way with youngsters Macauley Jones son of former V8 Supercar driver Brad Jones, and Chris Hays showing superior speed in the two finals.
A sluggish start by final one winner Jones, and a brake issue for Hays while leading with five laps remaining that aided Sera on his way to victory in the main event.
Reigning Pro Junior Champion Pierce Lehane was pressured all throughout the 27-lap final before taking his second round win of the year.
Also victorious on the weekend was Cian Fothergill who charged from the back of the field after a lap one incident to snare the victory in Pro Light.,p>Round four of the series will be held at Sydney’s Eastern Creek circuit on July 30/31.
