Lee Holdsworth's V8 Supercar will take-on a new look for the next two events as IRWIN Tools celebrates National Tradesmen Day.
As part of the build-up to a national celebration to honour The Hands that Build Australia on Friday 21 September, the IRWIN Racing Ford of Stone Brothers Racing will carry National Tradesmen Day as part of a special livery.
IRWIN Racing's Lee Holdsworth is pleased with the look of his racecar and the initiative to elevate the role of Australian tradesmen.
"Like everyone else, I've seen some of the great work tradies do everyday, in fact most of my closest mates are tradesmen." said Lee Holdsworth.
"Plus in the motor racing industry we like to surround ourselves with skilled tradespeople to ensure the best results."
"Carrying the special livery over the next two events marks what will be a great day and something I encourage people to be part of ."
Australias tradies: they build our homes, roads, businesses, and schools. They keep our cars running, our lights on, our water flowing, and so much more. They are the backbone of our country and thats why they deserve a national day of recognition according to IRWIN® Tools, a world-class manufacturer of a broad line of professional hand tools and power tool accessories.
This day will focus the nations attention on Thanking a Tradie and will include celebrations, recognition events, and activities across the country.
To initiate this annual celebration for tradesmen, IRWIN introduced an emblem to give National Tradesmen Day a distinct graphical icon that spotlights the real working hands.
"IRWIN is committed to making National Tradesmen Day a major event and it's great we can use the V8 Supercar as a "vehicle" to help publicise it," said Laura Turnbull, Marketing Director IRWIN Tools Asia Pacific.
"We really wanted the car to stand-out, so we have made quite a significant change to our core livery and included the official emblem.
"Everyone is looking forward to National Tradesmen Day and we will continue to drive the message both on and off the race track."
The IRWIN Tools National Tradesmen Day livery will be seen on the IRWIN Racing at Sydney Motorsport Park (formally Eastern Creek) on 25-26 August and the Dick Smith Sandown 500 on 14-16 September.
