Jack Daniel’s Racing duo, Rick and Todd Kelly started their SKYCITY Triple Crown V8 Supercar weekend, visiting Robertson Barracks, to meet soldiers that served in Afghanistan.
Rick and Todd were keen to meet the soldiers, join in on a few team-building routines and learn about their experiences.
Robertson Barracks, located outside Darwin is home to over 3,500 soldiers and is the home of the Loan Pine Soldier Recovery Centre, for wounded, injured and ill Army personnel.
A number of soldiers will get very close to the V8 Supercar action on Friday, as they watch from the Jack Daniel’s Racing team pit garage.
After meeting the soldiers, Rick Kelly said, “These guys are a massive inspiration to me, Todd and the Jack Daniel’s team and I know visiting here will help us strive even harder for success this weekend”.
Todd Kelly added, “I’d love to grab a win this weekend in Darwin so I can dedicate it to these guys and all our Defence Force people here and abroad”.
Both Rick and Todd have tasted success at Hidden Valley Raceway in the past, with Rick steering the black Jack Daniels machine to victory in Race One last year.
