Electric orange lines against a black matte finish are the distinguishing features of the new Pepsi Max Crew livery – the team’s second design of the 2012 season and the first to be fashioned by the car’s pit crew.
The latest offering – based on Greg Murphy’s helmet design - has a fiery feel to it and brings new texture to the livery design with a combination of black matte and gloss mixed in with orange highlights and a unique feather-style graphic feature on the rear of the car.
“We spend hours tweaking, polishing, testing and pushing this car to ensure it can be in prime shape for the intensity of the V8 Supercar Championship. But this is the first time we have ever had the actual design and look of the car handed over to us. The boys always talk about what they’d like to see on the livery and, thanks to Pepsi Max, we’re able to bring that idea to life,” said Dale Horne, Pepsi Max Crew lead mechanic.
“We’re lucky to have a pit crew that is so intensely committed to the success and maintenance of the Pepsi Max Crew – plus they’re all great mates! They discuss and analyse every livery we apply so we thought it was only fair that we handed over the reigns to them at least once,” said Adam Burling, Brand Manager – PepsiCo.
When the new livery hits the track in Darwin it will be a new driver behind the wheel for the Pepsi Max Crew following the news that Greg Murphy will undergo back surgery this week.
