03 February, 2010 – Trading Post, one of Australia’s leading places to buy and sell cars, today announced the launch of the Trading Post Racing Team in the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series.

The partnership, with the Albury based Brad Jones Racing team, cements Trading Post’s commitment to the automotive industry and further strengthens Telstra’s support of the V8 Supercar series.

The 2010 season promises to be a huge year for Brad Jones Racing and the Trading Post Racing Team. The team has had a strong offseason which saw the signing of V8 Supercar star Jason Bright, a new engine supply deal with Noonan Race Engineering and the completion of their first in-house built VE Commodore.

Driving the Trading Post Racing Commodore in 2010, Jason Bright brings a wealth of V8 Supercar experience to the team. With a resume that includes drives with Stone Brothers Racing, Holden Racing Team, PWR Racing and Ford Performance Racing before becoming a team owner in 2005 with the establishment of Britek Motorsport, the 2010 season looks promising.

“It’s fantastic news and a huge coup to secure Trading Post as naming rights sponsor for the No 14 VE Commodore. The Brad Jones Racing Team have put a strong package together and with Trading Post’s support, I believe we now have all the ingredients in place to make a real run for this year’s V8 Supercar Championship,” Jason said.

The Trading Post Racing car will be one of the standouts on the racetrack, with a bright orange livery, and will be sure to create a great visual experience for fans watching at the track, on TV or on their mobile.

“The V8 Supercars and Trading Post are a great fit. With automotive being such a significant part of our business, it made sense to get behind a V8 Supercar team and be involved in one of Australia’s most popular national sporting competitions,” Michael Padden, Head of Trading Post, said.

“The launch of Trading Post Racing is an exciting opportunity for us and we can’t wait to work with one of V8 Supercar’s most experienced teams.”

Bright’s first chance to drive the Trading Post Racing Commodore will be at the opening test day for the 2010 season at the Winton Raceway on 8 February.

“We look forward to launching our sponsorship and seeing the Trading Post Racing car in full flight at the first race in Abu Dhabi on 18 February, and to a very successful partnership with the team in 2010,” Michael said.
