Percat unveils new look Coates Hire Commodore for Dunlop Series

Coates Hire Racing today lifted the covers off its Walkinshaw Racing-prepared Commodore V8 Supercar which reigning Bathurst 1000 Champion Nick Percat will campaign in V8 Supercars’ Dunlop Series.

A Coates Hire boom lift was used to pull the car cover off the new-look Holden at Calder Park, the #222 Commodore featuring a brighter, more aggressive appearance for the 2012 season.

“The Coates Hire Commodore looks fantastic; the new livery is a lot brighter and a lot more in your face – I can’t wait to get to Adelaide and get stuck into the racing,” Percat said.

Percat was appreciative of naming rights sponsor Coates Hire, and Morris Finance, both companies signing with the team just prior to last year’s Clipsal event.

“I couldn’t be happier to have Coates Hire and Morris Finance back on board, they played a major part in my winning Bathurst and I will be forever thankful,” Percat said.

“The experience I gained in the development series was invaluable, it gave me the opportunity to race with Garth [Tander] and the Holden Racing Team in the enduros – without their backing I just wouldn’t have been able to complete enough laps. They helped speed up my development.

“Winning Bathurst was a great reward, but I want to repay them again with a really good year, having a crack at winning the Dunlop Series and the enduros again with Garth.”

Coates Hire’s Group Manager of Strategic Marketing, Jeremy Hill said the company was honoured to be a part of Percat’s Bathurst win and was excited about Coates Hire Racing’s second season.

“Coates Hire is very proud to once again be partnering with Walkinshaw Racing and Nick Percat for the 2012 Dunlop Series,” Hill said.

“Last year was our maiden year as naming rights sponsor and it worked very well as a direct extension to our sponsorship of the V8 Supercar Series.

“We were honoured to be a part of Nick’s Bathurst win with Garth, it was incredible to see a young driver with whom we had complete faith prove his talent on the biggest stage in Australian motor racing.

“We are looking forward to continuing our role in Nick’s development and another big year for Coates Hire Racing.”

The Coates Hire Racing Holden VE Commodore will be seen for the first time on track at next week’s Clipsal 500 event in Adelaide (1-4 March).
