Jack Perkins finishes Fujitsu season with a win

It was a sign of things to come in the main game, when the Fujitsu field faced changing conditions through the final race of the 2011 season.  While some drivers rolled the dice and started on slicks, the track didn't dry quick enough to allow them to threaten the front runners.

Out front Nick Percat set the early pace but was run down by Jack Perkins.  The win allowed Perkins to claim the runner up spot in the series standings.

The 2011 series Champion Andrew Thompson was 3rd and the placing allowed him to clinch the final round, his sixth round win of the season.

Behind him Scott McLaughlin held off Chaz Mostert for fourth place.  Mostert has quickly impressed in the two round since the move to Ford Performance Racing.

Of the slick runners Geoff Emery in 6th was the best place just ahead of Aaron McGill in the race.  David Russell could only manage 8th in the race, which allowed Perkins to jump him in the standings.

McLaughlin ended the season fourth in the standings ahead of Tim Blanchard.  It was a somewhat disappointing end to the season for Blanchard who dropped points to McLaughlin at both Sandown and Homebush.

With his move to FPR handing him his 2 best round results of the year Mostert claimed 6th ahead of the  Bathurst winning Nick Percat.  Percat had started the season well in Adelaide but was inconsistent from then on as his Championship challenge slipped away. However his efforts in Sydney were enough for third place in the round and his highest points haul of the season.

Paul Morris, Rodney Jane and Daniel Jilesen rounded out the seasons top 10.

Series standings at the seasons end

1 Andrew Thompson 1896 points

2 Jack Perkins 1601

3 David Russell 1594

4 Scott McLaughlin 1461

5 Tim Blanchard 1262

6 Chaz Mostert 1253

7 Nick Percat 1207

8 Paul Morris 944

9 Rodney Jane 827

10 Daniel Jilesen 816
