JAMES WINSLOW has announced that Haier Appliances will sponsor the remainder of his 2011 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship campaign.
The British born, American-based driver has returned to racing in Australia this year and has confirmed the major appliance manufacturer will adorn the sides of his #9 R-Tek Motorsport Dallara from this weekends round at Eastern Creek and for the remainder of the season as he seeks to win a second title.
Haier is a major international whitegoods company that manufacturers appliances including Refrigerators, Freezers, Dryers, Dishwashers and Washing Machines that have won major awards in Australia and abroad, including an Australian Design Award in 2009 and a Red Dot design Award in 2010.
Winslow, leading the Formula 3 title race after the first two rounds, said he was thrilled to have a globally recognised brand on board his Dallara.
“I’m really excited to have this new relationship with Haier Appliances. They are a great company and have fantastic products that are known around the world for their performance and quality, much like Formula 3 is,” James Winslow said.
“It is an honour for me to represent them in my racing endeavours. Every driver looks for this kind of support, so to be able to work with them this year is amazing.
“It’s a great vote of confidence in me and in the championship.
“Haier is an evolving and developing brand and I am looking forward to working hard this year to raise their brand exposure in Australia and hopefully win a championship with them on the side of the car!”
Winslow leads the championship by 4 points over team-mate Bryce Moore, with Chris Gilmour in third place. The top five drivers are split by just 14 points after the first two of seven rounds.
The Haier Appliances R-Tek Dallara will be on track for three races this weekend, all of them available to view online at www.itvlive.com.au at this weekend’s Shannons Nationals Event at Sydney’s Eastern Creek.
The races will then be broadcast on SBS Speedweek and on SPEED TV Australia following the round.
