As MINI Challenge steps into its third exciting season of Australian circuit racing, the series is pleased to announce two major partners in the form of car rental giant Hertz and gourmet pizza kitchens Pizza Capers as Naming Rights and Presenting Rights partners for 2010.
The Hertz MINI Challenge - delivered by Pizza Capers is set to again offer the most exciting, premium single-make motorsport series in Australia as it tackles seven of the most prominent motor sport events in Australia in conjunction with the V8 Supercars Championship Series. These seven include Australian Formula One Grand Prix, Ipswich 300, Townsville 400, Phillip Island 500, Gold Coast SuperCarnivale, Sydney 300 and this weekend’s Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
The announcement of Hertz and Pizza Capers is a welcome addition to the one-make series which is complimented by this year’s strong broadcast package which will be broadcast on the 7 Network, Fox Sports and TV3 in New Zealand.
MINI National Manager Justin Hocevar was delighted with the new addition to a flourishing series.
"MINI is extremely excited with the prospect of having Hertz onboard as the MINI Challenge Naming Rights sponsor. It’s an authentic relationship complemented by the soon to be released Hertz Fun Collection that will offer a range of MINI Cooper S models for Australians to rent through Hertz outlets across the country. Motorsport is a great means to expose our brands to a wider audience and we welcome both Hertz and Pizza Capers" Said Hocevar.
Last year’s Champion Paul Stokell and rival Chris Alajajian will again take to the grid as the series shapes up to be another nail-biter in 2010. The pair, along with other familiar faces from 2009 will be joined by fresh faces this year, including former V8 Supercar competitor Dean Canto.
In 2010, the Hertz MINI Challenge - delivered by Pizza Capers will again play host to the ever-popular UBER Star driver program which places a celebrity in the hot seat of the John Cooper Works MINI and mixes them up with the series’ best. Already confirmed for the 2010 season is International Stunt Rider Robbie Maddison for the Clipsal 500 and AFL Star/TV Personality Sam Newman for the Australian Grand Prix.
"We are really excited to be a part of MINI Challenge again in 2010. We had such a great reaction to the campaign in 2009, it was a no brainer to re-sign with the series for another year. We have even noticed one of our competitors TV commercials featuring a pizza being delivered in a MINI... I guess impersonation is the sincerest form of flattery." said Scott Geizler, El Supremo of Pizza Capers.
Along with Hertz and Pizza Capers, both Dunlop and Castrol will be continuing their support of the category in 2010. They will also be joined by Super Charge Batteries and Florida Constructions to set the foundations for another energetic year of motor-racing.
