
Sprint Auto Parts Rally SA got under way this morning with an Australian first shootout. Under light rain and slippery conditions in Mount Crawford, the teams batlled it out to be in the top 10 for the final shootout.
As has been the case for much of the year, the top 4 cars dominated the event with Simon Evans winning from a surprised Eli Evans and Neal Bates came home third. Speaking after the event Simon Evans stated that the wet conditions were not going to slow him this weekend as he looked to take the title away from reigning champ Neal Bates. Eli Evans result suggested the battle for 3rd will also be hard fought with Glen Raymond.
The Rally will launch officially with a super special stage at Angaston tonight.
